Analysis of hydrological regime evolution and ecological response in the Min River, China

Abstract Natural fluctuation of the hydrological regime is key to maintaining river ecosystem function and health. Given shortcomings previous studies on change ecological response Min River, this study combined two degree evaluation methods Budyko theory quantify ecohydrological its driving factors. Ecological significance indicators (ecosurplus ecodeficit) Shannon index (SI) were used identify characteristics variation mechanisms. The results showed following: (1) in River Basin had an abrupt 1993, with overall alteration reaching 44%, which further led a decrease surplus increase deficit indicators. (2) Budyko's theoretical show that climate human activities together lead 83.83 mm reduction runoff, contributing 54.20% mean annual while rainfall evapotranspiration 43.88 1.92%, respectively.
